The day I’m writing this, January 2, 2017, I will have
completed my first day of the 90-day personal trainer workouts that I won
through First Wes church! Before the workout, we met and discussed goals and
what I wanted to get out of the next three months. My main goal is weight loss.
Currently I weigh around 255 pounds. My goal is to be down 50 pounds. I am not
sure if that goal will be reached in 3 months. However, I hope to be close and
hope to see weight loss each week I weigh in.
As we were talking before the workout, he
mentioned how weight loss is a 90-5-5 sort of deal. It is 90% in the kitchen.
The diet is the biggest part of any workout plan. If you do not eat right,
hitting the weights doesn’t benefit you at all. So he has started me on a diet
plan. Currently the plan is as follows:
·
Meal 1: Egg whites (and/or possibly small bowl
of oatmeal instead)
·
Meals 2 and 3: 5 oz of chicken breast with 2 spoonful’s
of broccoli
·
Meals 4 and 5: 5 oz of chicken breast with 2.5-3
spoonful’s of rice
·
Meal 6: Apple with PB (or possibly a small amount
of chicken)
This is the meal plan that I will follow for the next 3
months (and possibly longer). I am wondering at what point I will be sick of
chicken. My hope is to never be sick of chicken. My guess, however, is that by
around week 6 or so I will be ready to eat something else. Meals 3 and 4 are my
pre and post workout meals. I also have some supplements to add to water
before, during, and after my workouts. One pre-workout supplement is C4 Ultimate.
I will have that to drink about 30 minutes from my workout. Then I have creatine
powder that I will drink before and during my workout. I will also use the
creatine after my workout as well. The brand that he had me get is called
Beast. I used the pre-workout C4 today and the stuff does work. I could definitely
feel it as we started hitting the bench press to start our workouts.
I am
really excited for the workouts. During these 90 days, we will be at the gym 5
days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday). I am hoping to
list some of the workouts that we do and stuff like that. Today we did bench
press, incline press, pull down, squats, and I ran on the treadmill (walked for
2 minutes, then ran for 20 seconds and rested for 10 for 8 minutes). The
running is by far my least favorite part of the night. I have absolutely no
stamina, especially after working out. I thought for sure that I was going to
get sick or pass out during the last minute or so on the treadmill. However, I
got through it. After my heart rate slowed and we got done with the workout, I
felt amazing. While I am not looking forward to the running that I will have to
endure, I am looking forward to lifting weights and seeing how much stronger I
can get.
I am hoping that I can get people to read this blog and help support me along this journey of life change. But I also want to keep up with the blog because I hope that maybe it will inspire or encourage someone who wants to better their life. So this is the first step of many to come! I hope you all enjoyed reading and will continue to come back for more!
